Elijah?
Elijah Meyer:Yeah, I have a lot of mired. I uh go by a lot of chaos social media, and uh I'm just uh singer songwriter, slash inspirational influencer on social media, trying to bring the word of God to people who need to hear it through my music or through my social media platform.
Israel Caminero:And you get to hear Elijah's testimony, but before he starts with that, I'd like to pray and say, Father God, we come before you with grateful hearts, knowing that you are the author of every testimony that's on this podcast and the redeemer of every broken story that's heard. Elijah Meyer:Amen.
Israel Caminero:All right, so Elijah, everyone's waiting to hear your testimony. It's your turn to be on here and share it. So can you take us back to what life was like growing up in your home?
Elijah Meyer:Yeah, you know, as a as a child, uh life was pretty average as a kid. You know, I had a stay-at-home mom and a dad that worked uh driving tour buses and semis all around the world. So it was basically being raised by in a single, single family home, if you want to say that, with a dad that was there occasionally. But, you know, pretty much as a child, I had two brothers, the older one and a little one. So of course the you know, the middle child. And uh throughout my childhood, you know, it's it wasn't really neglect or nothing like that, but I always felt like I was out of place because, you know, my big brother was before me, and then I was there, then my little brother was born as kind of like shadowed out. But I mean, through childhood was pretty much through average childhood, played sports, you know, was pretty, pretty well. But I did have my my downfalls with a mother that suffered with uh alcoholism and uh which bled into sports, which, you know, sitting outside waiting for a ride and then have a ride, eventually having to walk home or get a ride. I exceled through sports because I really thrived for, I guess, the attention of my parents, my dad or my mom, and neither one really was theirs, but I did thrive. I mean, I went I did really good in basketball, was Homecoming King and all that stuff, and I think it was around my eighth grade years when I felt the reins of uh the devil get a hold of me is because I was coming out onto the basketball court and everybody else, people for the homecoming was there, and uh I looked out and I didn't see nobody for me and I was kind of shell-shocked, you know, and I was like, wow, I did all this for nothing, you know, in my mind thinking, you know, I did all this for nothing, nobody's here to walk me. So I walked with my principal out there and did my chiros, you know, and as I progressed as a child, just got angry and aggressive and uh started rebellion really, you know, that carried on through my younger teen years. I think it was probably around I'd say 11 to 13 when I started, you know, dabbling with smoking weed and smoking cigarettes and trying alcohol and started getting into women and stuff like that. And uh yeah, it was it started getting pretty crucial around them ages and uh it continued for a while, man. It I did a lot of bad things, you know. I joined a lot of bad people and did a lot of bad things, was arrested. I think somewhere from like 13 to 16, I probably was arrested eleven to twelve times on drug charges or theft or just being out, you know, and just really suffered through the nases. And you know, parents tried, but my mom was a single mother basically because my dad was always gone and you know she struggled with her demons too. So when it came to stuff like that, me getting in trouble, I really didn't have a person to go through, you know. And uh I started straight, yeah, I started straightening my life up a little bit. It was around sophomore year where I was 16 as I got this uh my first son's mom pregnant. So uh that's when life really kicked me down, and I was like, wow, well, I thought life was kicking me down, you know. And uh yeah, so we went, you know, we decided to keep the child. She was 15, I was 16. And uh took a lot of thought and process, but we both just couldn't come to the conclusion of you know, terminating a uh gift from God, you know. We we really didn't know how big of a gift God he was until he, you know, was here. Right. And uh so you know that came with a package itself, you know, a lot of a lot of counselors, a lot of negativity, a lot of backlash from a lot of people. My sports career pretty much tanked after that because I mean back in that day it was very rare for a a teenage kid to have a kid. You know, I think I was probably maybe one of two people in the whole entire district that do that. And uh so yeah, I I suffered from that. And of course I was still dabbling with drugs and all that stuff. And you know, he was born and that was the time in high school. Well, she wasn't he wasn't born quite yet. It was a time in high school, she was almost ready to be, he was almost being ready to be born, and I was being dumb and got caught with some drugs in school and got arrested, you know, and you know, it's just like it was downfall after downfall. Even with a kid on the way, I still just couldn't seem to get my life on track. Heading, heading after he was born, I I straightened up a little bit. Of course, me and his mom didn't work out because we both just knew in our hearts, you know, this was even when we were, you know, so-called in love or what you want to call it, we knew we weren't gonna be together, but we knew we had good hearts and we knew our hearts didn't want to get rid of that child. Right. So, yeah, so we uh we decided to keep it. He was born, you know, we we stayed together about a year, year and a half after he was born, and uh after I got arrested out of school, I was kicked out of all districts, so I had to go to an alternative school, of course, for a whole school year, which I did. And I got out and I felt like I was making leeway, you know. I started a new school, got back into basketball, was doing real good. The school shifted the kids. Uh I went to a place that's in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and I mean, what an amazing school it was. It was called Holloway High School, and they they were some just outright amazing people. They even had a daycare where you can bring your child with you and drop them off while you attended school. I mean, it was amazing, you know, just the school atmosphere. So I really started thriving. I was thinking military. I was, you know, I was getting on track. I'm gonna make it for my son. And then, you know, it was around 18 as, you know, I got out of school and I didn't go to the military. I met up with some of them old friends and they just started going back down, you know, uh even harder. You know, I got into drugs way harder, got into hanging out with gangs and just wilding out doing dumb stuff for no reason. With people that I thought were the best for me were the uh I guess you want to say the downfall of me. And uh I got arrested, man, I was arrested a couple of times as an adult too, and uh I I ran, I have a really my sister-in-law now, actually. I'm proud to say this, you know. Uh she knew me through all these times, and uh I actually went and picked, was supposed to pick her up from a bar, and uh I ran into her and she had other plans, and I got lucky enough to meet her sister, her younger sister, my wife Melissa, and uh man, that was uh that was a whirlwind right there. Uh I didn't know if I wanted it or not because I was just trying to be the cool drug dealer, gang banger, you know, just kind of everybody pretty much knew my name. If you said my name, they knew it. And that's back, you know, in Tennessee, that's where I'm from. Well, originally that's where I lived, but I'm from Colorado. But in Tennessee, you know, that's back when like jelly roll and struggle and just a bunch of people were out while and out and we were allies them as kids. We were thinking it's cool, you know, and it's it's uh it's wild just to see where he took his heart, you know, and jelly roll and all that, what they've done with their wives, you know, and uh it's just a testimony in itself, you know. But you know, I got got to doing all that, and uh I found my wife and we started going in on it, you know, and we had our demons, she had her demons, I had my demons, and they just coincided with each other and we found peace there for a little bit, and then it just became an addiction problem. We became an addiction couple, and uh that was you know, that was a hard time in our lives too, and we uh we ended up having our first child. We both had kids from separate, you know, separate relationships from our past, and we accepted the man and we we ended up having our son Maddox. And uh that was a probably the roughest time of both of our lives. We were both addicted to a lot of drugs, not just one drugs, but a lot of drugs. And uh, yeah, we uh we were going pretty hard and we were blessed enough to be able to keep him. But there was a time that we finally got jammed up and everything crumbled. And this is uh the walk of God that started my walk is uh I got arrested and thought, oh yeah, we'll just get out. So we got arrested together. We both got out on the same day and we started living like we decided we were gonna put the drugs down and live for our kids. And uh we were doing good. It's about a month out. We were sitting there and I get a knock on the door and a Shashera, and uh I have several warrants out from our arrest that they didn't hold me on when I was supposed to when I got out originally a month ago. So they locked me back up and they took me away and set me with no bond, and I didn't know when I was getting out, and uh yeah, that just set me on a downward spiral with course, you know, the withdrawal from drugs and the not knowing where my kid or my my wife was or girlfriend at the time was. And uh I got pretty low in my life, man. Uh there was a time, this is where I first heard God talk to me, uh, and uh I told you I wasn't gonna hold nothing back because I'm not ashamed of who I am and what I've come from. So uh I just sitting in my cell one night and I'm a country boy, I know how to tie nooses pretty good, and I decided I was just gonna end it because I couldn't get a hold of nobody, I couldn't find my kid, couldn't find my girlfriend at the time, and I was just gonna end it. And I literally was laying in the middle of my cell crying, yelling at God, saying, if you're real, show me. If you're real, show me, or I'm just gonna end it. And it was probably I would I don't know time in jail because he don't have no clock, unfortunately. It's like time is time, you know, it's just uh it's just a dance hour. So I have to say it was probably around one o'clock, two o'clock in the morning.
Israel Caminero:It's either daytime or nighttime, right?
Elijah Meyer:Yeah, exactly. I know it was late in the night because we were all locked away, you know, and uh I was laying there and uh I was about to do it, and I said, show me a sign. If you're real, show me a sign. And uh I was like, Well, that's it. He ain't showing me that sign about the time I set up, and we have these little slides on the jail cell door, and it slid open about halfway, and uh eyes with glasses came through, and he said, uh, God wouldn't want you to live like that. And looked up, and uh first thing I seen to my left was a Bible. I was like, oh, that was kind of weird. So of course that got me out of the whole suicidal stage, and I was second, who is this guy coming to my cell knowing I'm about to do this? So I probably had eight months left on my sentence, and uh the next morning I got up and I searching for this guy, asking every guard, asking everybody in the in my block where if they've seen this guy with glasses, if it was a pastor that came in at night to check, nobody I seen the guy. Wow, and uh I was like, oh wow, so I picked up the Bible and I started reading. And when I say the Bible intrigued me so much, it was a high that no drug has ever took me, and I started reading through Genesis.
Israel Caminero:Amen.
Elijah Meyer:And how it was created and how God created us with hands, and he breathed the breast of his breath in us, and that's who we are, and just got me on the spiritual high, and I just started reading and I read and so I started praying. I learned I didn't know how to pray real well. I mean, I've been to church a few times, had people pray for me, of course, because I was such a, you know, at that time such a bad person, and uh started praying, learning how to pray, reading the Bible, got got really into it, and uh I just found him. And uh I promised him, I told him, I said, regardless of where everybody's at in life, when I get out, I'm gonna get my family back and I'm gonna do it through you. You're gonna lead me through it. And he tells us in the Bible, you know, surrender everything and he'll be with us. So I surrendered everything to him that night. And uh I was released and I got out and uh I was living with my dad at the time, got my son back, what a blessing that was. I was like, well, never thought this would happen. You know, I got him back. And within a matter of years, this just shows you how if you fully surrender and you know, submit to God how he'll work in your life. Within a year of me being released from jail, I not only have my son back, I got an apartment. I got my girlfriend, my wife now back. And uh we moved from that apartment to a house. And of course, you know, the devil's gonna try to knock you ten ways sideways. When you start doing good, that's when he tried to eat you the worst, you know, and uh we uh we started attending trying to find home churches, you know. We were looking around me and my wife really, we really were trying to get into it and get into a family of churches. So we were bouncing church to church. Well, uh my our house that we moved into, we uh caught fire. So we're like, oh wow, you know, and uh everything we had burnt. So we're wow, here we go, square one again. So we're living out of a hotel at the time, and we're praying, we're staying, you know, staying faithful, staying on the right track. We promised each other we weren't going back to that life. Because my wife has a testimony herself that is just immaculate, and her dad is such an inspiration to anybody. So I have, you know, I have to say I have some of the best supporting people in my life that if I need a brother in need, I know I can call them and they will give me nothing but the truth of God. So good. But after, you know, we're living at a hotel, our our sons run out of, you know, the Florida hotel we move in with my mother and father-in-law. So my wife, uh, I I'm working at the town, I stay faithful, and I'm not gonna quit my job. I have a family, I'm gonna stay working. Even though this tragedy happened, I'm gonna stay working because uh we have to I have to provide. And uh my wife goes to salvage whatever she comes out of the house, and she said, baby, I was praying. I cleaned it out, and uh, we never went one way. We always went one way out of the where we lived. But there was another way, and uh she was with her mother-in-law. Her mother-in-law was like, mean her stepmom, my mother-in-law, and uh we were she said, Well, let's go this way. And she said, I was praying all day for God to put us back out here because it was it where we live is such a great community. It's a little town out in the middle of Tennessee. It's called Alexandria. It's just a little dot on the map, and it's perfect, you know. And uh she said, I was praying, baby, and they drove up the road, drove up Academy Avenue where we live now, and she said there was a full rent sign there. So she called and uh she called and they said, Yeah, that's the rent, but you gotta have X, Y, and Z. Well, we had X, Y, but we didn't have Z. So this is when we leaned into God and let Him take the wheel. And we prayed for a blessing. We asked him, God, you know, we've been faithful, we've been doing our part. Can you show us a sign? And he uh we got in touch with the church. Not only did the church call us, they paid our deposit on our house and our first month's rent. And uh the place we were trying to rent from was basically telling us, you know, you you have to have X, Y, and Z. And we were like, Well, we have X, Y, and Z, and the check is being mailed to you right now. And they were so amazed of, you know, we told them how it happened, you know, we went through a church, we prayed about it, you know, just we got the house. So here we are now, you know, and it's just, you know, we have we we're blessed again to have another child, a daughter named Navy, and she's such a blessing to us too. And we have, you know, all together we have four kids, and it wasn't until about three years ago we found our home church the experience in Murphy World, Tennessee. And uh that church right there, it's it's exactly everything that we wanted. And we finally had a home church. And we love going there, we still attend to this. They we we are we're not we're human, we're not perfect, so some days we miss, but we're 90% of the time we're there, you know. And you know, uh I was praying to God one night and I've been playing with music my whole life and wanting to, you know, play with music and the industry. I've watched my dad, he strove for DZ Top and he drove for Sawyer Brown for I think 40 years. So I've known the music industry pretty good and I know how grimy it is, and I didn't didn't want to be a part of that music industry. I wanted to write Christian music. So I started my journey on writing Christian music. And when I when I tell people about how I write, it's almost like I can I can close my eyes but not close my eyes, and I can just shut my mind off and just think of the glory of God and what Jesus did and what all the disciples did and what you know, just the Bible in a compact, you know, and I can sit there and I can you can ask my wife, I can sit there and write a song in about 30 to 45 minutes, and it can be some of the best music I ever wrote. And I do it so effortfully. There's no there's no stopping. It just comes and I go back and revamp it, you know, of course, but just writing it, it feels right. It's the best feeling I get whenever I get to sit down after all the crazy havoc of work and you know family life and stuff. When I get that hour, hour and a half for myself to write, it's exactly what God intended me to do. I know it. And uh I've been writing for a while, and as I told you earlier before the podcast started, you know, I I got about 50 songs now that, you know, working on getting out people, but that's all per God. I am I'm in the walk with God. So if it isn't from God, I won't take it. And the numbers, the numbers don't matter. The money doesn't matter. I got a comfortable job. I'm blessed with a comfortable job. I've been blessed in them aspect of the way too. And you know, I started off working on a farm shoveling poop to working at a sewage place to being at a wood shop, you know, just blessing after blessing being put in front of me, getting people that are godly people in front of me and opening doors to mean we're going from making 350 a week to now making, you know, a good good salary a year, you know.
Israel Caminero:Right.
Elijah Meyer:And uh it's just how God can put people in your ways to teach you lessons and lead you. And if they're from God, you can tell because it works, it really does. So if anybody is listening, you know, anybody that listens to this, if if it seems easy, it's because God is positioning you there to make it easy because He knows that's where you need to be. Amen. It could be for yeah, you know, for a lifetime or a uh, you know, a season. And a lot of times we go through seasons, and that's what God's growth is, is seasons, and there's hard times and good times in it all. And I was uh I was scrolling through, I've never been a real big social media guy, but I was scrolling through TikTok and stuff like that. And I heard a call one night, and he just told me, he said, he said, you need to spread my word. And how can I do that? You know, I can I'm too busy in life to go around and you know, I try every time I get a chance. I work in a hospitality business as it is, I install autoglass, so I get to see different customers, you know, and I get you know, I don't want to enforce God on anybody because God is supposed to be free, you know. So if they, you know, conversation sparks up, I'll I'll talk about it. But you know, for the most part, but said, you know, you need to share my word. So I'm thinking, how do I do that? So I make a I'm like, I'm gonna recall, I'm not a big chauffeur guy. So I'm like, I'm gonna try this TikTok thing out and just start a, you know, saying different, different what my outlook of the day looks like when I wake up, because that's when I make my videos in the morning. My goal is with my videos now, it's just if I'm the first person they see that's you know, that's a blessing, and they can hear what I have to say and need, they can take it with a grain of solder, they can embrace it and see if they can apply that into their daily life and see if it changes. And uh my goal on the social media and my music is just if I can get one person closer to God a day. I've done the work of God that day. That's good. And you know, and just like you with this podcast, man, I mean, I know you're blowing up like crazy, and you know, it's just and you know, this is another God thing to me, is you know, God crossed our path for this to happen and for people around the world to hear this and you know, just embrace it. And, you know, like you said before we started this year, everybody got a different testimony. And to me, that is my favorite thing about being a Christian and living in the life of God is everybody's different. And I love that because it's the difference that God gives us that makes us such great people. That's right. And uh, you know, it's it's never been easy for me. Not now is not easy, you know. I still struggle and I still go through trials and tribulations. But when you have God in your life and surround your life with God, it is one of the most reassuring things because yeah, we we're all gonna eventually pass away, but we know when we pass away we get to an internal life with the Lord. And uh that to me is exciting, just as exciting as living life with my family, you know, because that that reason right there is because, you know, one day we're all gonna see each other again. That's right. Yeah. That's absolutely right. Yeah, that's pretty much, yeah, that's pretty much, you know, my my testimony. Uh, you know, just came from wilding out to jail cells to, you know, finding a love of life and going back into it, and then, you know, finally just fully surrendering to God and to see what he's done in my life and my family's life is just nothing more than a blessing.
Israel Caminero:I want to go back to something you said earlier about f finding your home church, and you said that you went there 90% of the time. And don't let that discourage you, Elijah, because 90% of the time is a great number. And you also have to remember that you are the church. So whether you're in the building or not, you're still going to church because you're spreading the gospel outside of those doors. So just remember that. And also and also you have that um, you know, that you can just close your eyes and write music and just spread the word by writing about Christian music. And that's the Holy Spirit working through you when you do that writing these uh songs and Christian songs that I'm sure we're gonna hear sometime. And and you heard him here first, Elijah Meyer, Elijah K. You're gonna hear these songs, and you heard him here on this podcast first. And I just want to ask you, when you write these songs, how do you think God is using you as far as healing you and for your ministry through your music?
Elijah Meyer:I would say with me, Ryan, it's show people, you know, that you can spread the the love of God so many different ways that you can do it through music, through social media, you can do it through, like you said, we are church, you can do it through going to feed the homeless, you know. So to me, it's just another great example of God's glory of how you can spread Him and His Word around.
Israel Caminero:Amen. That's good. Throughout this journey of yours, you know, struggling with jail, addiction, not seeing your girlfriend at the time, and everything else that you went through, what do you think are the biggest lessons you learned through your journey of faith?
Elijah Meyer:The biggest lesson I've learned is that if you do it through Christ, that it will mean more than anything you could ever do. Because I've tried it every other way I promise you I've had. I've made every excuse in the book not to turn to God, and it's never turned out. But when you do it through Christ and with Christ, his promises are exactly what he says.
Israel Caminero:That's true. Once you surrender, that's it, and that's what he's waiting for, you know. Yeah. Sometimes it's not up to him to come and get you and say, Hey, you shouldn't be doing this. It's it's up to us to surrender to him and say, God, we need you to save us.
Elijah Meyer:Yeah, we heard uh yeah, our pastor was actually preaching about that. We were in uh Hebrews, we're in chapter 13 this last Sunday, and he was saying, you know, God sits there and he's knocking on your door, he's knocking, but it's up to you if you're gonna answer it. And he said, Oh, you know, and it's up to you if you're gonna open that door and let him in and just let him in the living room, because as a Christian, you want God to shed light on all your darkness. And that's that's what our pastor was saying was to let him in the living room, but that's nukewarm. That's one foot in the door, one foot out the door. If you're gonna let him in, you have to let him in and shine light in the attic, in the closet, all the dark areas before you actually inherit the light. And I was like, wow, that basically how I lived for a long time was yeah, I knew God and I I believed him, but I was only letting in in and staying in my living room because everything else in my life was so dirty that I was ashamed, like you said, uh uh be ashamed of something. But it's it's amazing that God will give you the power to not feel ashamed of your past because of the person he's made you today.
Israel Caminero:Right. That's right. And he and he doesn't, you know, he doesn't shame you. I think it's more us shaming ourselves and the enemy trying to shame us, keeping us away from him. Because God will never shame you, he'll accept you however you are. And that's the problem. A lot of people just shame themselves, and the enemy uses that to just keep them away from God.
Elijah Meyer:Amen. And discouraging, yeah.
Israel Caminero:Yep. So if someone's listening right now that was in the same dark place that you were once in, what would you want to say to them right now?
Elijah Meyer:You know, this goes out to anybody that is suffering with depression, addiction, dark places. Pull your Bible out and surrender to God and get into the word and find you godly people. Surround yourself with godly people, good people that will not only be with you through your upbringing of your walk with God, but be there when you need them the most in your darkest times. That somebody, whenever you're slipping and falling out of the walk, they're there to push you back in that line. Because when you have that kind of support, it's hard to walk outside the line. So if anybody's listening today, I pray that you just surrender and just when you do give it to them, give them everything. All the darkness, all the trauma, everything and put that away and be the person that God has promised you to be. Because God already knows who we are and what we're supposed to do. And if you have hear a calling, don't be afraid to answer that calling. Because you never know that might be what God has exactly for you.
Israel Caminero:Amen. That's true. That's absolutely true. Sometimes God makes us uncomfortable to be comfortable.
Elijah Meyer:And oh amen.
Israel Caminero:And you know, he he'll put something on you and you're and you fight like I don't want to do that. But you have to. You have to. You have to take that leap and do it because he's put it in your heart for a reason. And and you'll and you know, you'll see the fruit of it. You won't understand why, but you'll eventually see the fruit of it and say, that's why this happened.
Elijah Meyer:And that's that's goes back to, you know, finding them people that can put you back in line. Uh, God tells us to judge judge them off their fruit. And uh when you know, you know when it's the fruit when you see it. You know, and uh and all the people I've surrounded myself with, uh, they bear the fruit, and you can totally see it. Because it doesn't matter if you go to church or you don't go to church or who your pastor is or who your pastor isn't, or even if you say God's name, it all it all comes down to bearing the fruit of the kingdom to God.
Israel Caminero:Amen. So you mentioned being in jail, and I know you probably read the Bible a lot there. That's leading to my next question, which is Is there a Bible verse that stuck with you once you read the Bible throughout all your hardships? I know you said you weren't really into it before when you were doing all this stuff, but is there like a life verse that you could always fall back on, or when you're having a bad day, read it and what that Bible verse is and what it means to you?
Elijah Meyer:Absolutely. Yeah, I have I have a plethora of them because you know uh I've read the Bible quite a few times. There's just so many that acquire me. I really like one Timothy. Timothy is one of my favorites, and it's chapter four, verse 15 through 16. It's be the light in these matters, give yourself your holiness and to them so that everyone may see your progress, watch your life, and doctor in closer, you know, preserving them because if you do, you will save both yourself and your healer. Talking about God. If you do both those, you're you're saving yourself and you're giving the glory to God.
Israel Caminero:Amen. And that's what it's about. It's to glorify him. That's what I say about this podcast all the time. You know, it's your story for his glory. But thank you for thank you for that verse. Now we're going to my back to the power podcast. And with my back to the power. If the if the Elijah, I was gonna call you Timothy because you said that birth bur uh birthday.
Elijah Meyer:Oh man, what a birthday would be up.
Israel Caminero:But if the Elijah of today can go back in time and talk to the younger Elijah, what would you say to him and why?
Elijah Meyer:I would tell him there's a light brighter than you could ever see. And the reason I would tell him that is because of the light I get to walk in every day today, and the smile I get on my face when I get to put my feet on the ground and inhale the breath for the first day. And I'm a very passionate morning person. I'm very blessed for every day I get to wake up and pray over my family before I walk out, you know, do my TikTok in the morning, make sure I get the word out there to anybody who wants to hear it, you know. But I would tell them there is a light brighter than you could ever imagine. And if the younger me could see that light, I don't think I would have that testimony that people could cling to. And I think that's what God has done to me is and everybody has a testimony, and just for me, God's put me in a position of a lot of heartache, a lot of distress, and a lot of letdowns. But I always, as a kid, I always looked for the light. And I I thought I had seen it a few times, but it wasn't until you know now that I actually walked in the light. I could tell the younger me, hey man, the light is brighter. Definitely.
Israel Caminero:Amen. That's good. Not saying that the younger Elijah would have received it or even listened to you because ran out the door, you know.
Elijah Meyer:Right. About how it was. Because I had, you know, that's I had people like that in my life that were influenced, trying to, you know, show me that God was who he is. And I I was so blinded by the enemy and self-centered that I didn't see that. I just I thought, oh yeah, sure. I'll pray tomorrow and I'll be able to get into heaven. You know, that's how my method was. I'll just pray tomorrow, I'll get into heaven, don't worry about it. Let's but for now let's go run around and do dumb stuff and get in trouble. You know, I'll worry about that tomorrow. Right. But today it's a whole different story.
Israel Caminero:That's right. That's right. So how are you doing today? Do you did you want to share anything about how you're doing today?
Elijah Meyer:Man, my day is blessed, brother. Um I'm beyond blessed to be on this podcast with you, man. Uh, I know we tried to get on one time and it didn't work out. And, you know, that's that's another thing that I'm grateful for, is that I have God on my side and uh it didn't work out, but look at this, he uh it worked out, and we got a little earlier than we both wanted, and just a blessing how God is, you know. Uh but today is just another day I got to put my feet on the ground and take another breath and thank God to be here and be on this podcast and be a follower to my kids and be a be a light for anybody who needs it. And uh if anybody needs anything, y'all can find me on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook at Eliza K. Come check me out, email me, message me. Um I'm always trying to get back. I'm starting to get a good following, so it's getting harder to try to keep up with everybody's comments. Definitely want to lead people. I want people, I want to be an example to people that if you turn it over, and it's not even beyond the social media or the music, just if you turn your life over there, it's a brighter light to all my brothers and sisters out there.
Israel Caminero:That's good. And I'll have links to all his social media on the description of this episode. If any, like you said, if anybody wants to reach out and talk to him or listen to his TikToks that he puts out talking about the Bible, and you can check him out. I'll have links to that in the description. Before we close out, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to be here today, Elijah. Everyone has busy schedules, and like you said, we were supposed to do this before, and look how God orchestrated it. Something happened, and I didn't have you for a while, and someone happened to cancel today, and I reached out to you and look, got you right in.
Elijah Meyer:Exactly. That's just that's proof that God is there, bro. That's proof God is there.
Israel Caminero:That's right. That's right. And here you are, sharing your testimony to the world. But before we close out, do you think you could pray for us?
Elijah Meyer:Yeah, I was gonna ask you if I could uh close us out with a prayer for everybody on you, yourself. Yeah. Uh let's do this one. Uh dear Heavenly Father, that uh we're thanks for you today, Lord. Put your hand on the shoulders of people who are the shoulders. You are the truth. If anybody is showing you can lead them to people that can be helpful. They can show them that you are the one and only person that can life from tragedy. Lord, in your name we pray. Amen.
Israel Caminero:Amen. Amen. Thank you for praying. Again, thank you for being here and sharing your testimony. I know sometimes it's not easy to share testimonies, but that's not what defines you in life. What defines you is who you are now. You're not that same person that you were, that you just described through your testimony. You are new. And I just want to say to all my listeners and my followers that have been listening since day one and outpouring of love, thank you. Thank you for continuing to encourage me. Sometimes people like me get discouraged, but I have the following to encourage me, and I have God that encourages me too. And this is like I said, your story, Elijah, his glory. I'm just the vessel he's using to spread his word. And someone out there might have heard this that hey, I'm going through the same thing, but guess what? I heard of this guy named Jesus through this podcast. Maybe I should look into that. Just want to say thank you for joining us again. And Elijah, yeah, thank you so much, brother.
Elijah Meyer:Thank you so much.
Israel Caminero:You're welcome. You're welcome. I have links to all his social media in the description of this episode. And I just want to say until next time. God bless.
